"The Non-Anonymous Autonomous Society" is a digital exhibition about the possible threat of living in a society where AI is implemented for survellience purposes.
Artificial intelligence is a relatively new technology with a lot of potential uses. One of them being surveillance. This has been most prevalent in China where many companies are developing AI technology to be used within public surveillance. However, China is not the only place where these possibilities are being explored. There are many imaginable positive uses for this technology, the question is what happens when it ends up in the hands of those with selfish desires and a yearning for power. Artificial intelligence can be compared to a double-sided sword, the consequences can be both in our favor and disfavor. This exhibition explores, and forewarns about the second event. What happens when AI is used against, as to being used for, the public?
The central most part of the exhibition consists of six separate object which in different ways comment on the use of artificial intelligence for surveillance purposes. These objects deal with aspects of the subject such as data integrity on social media platforms, facial recognition technology and the algorithmic view of human beings as a possible side effect of artificial intelligence.
